Butler Area School District has been awarded a $7,500 Pennsylvania Farm Bill Agriculture & Youth Grant to support and expand agricultural education opportunities across the district.

Over the past few years, fourth and fifth grade students at Summit Elementary School have taken part in an engaging, hands-on learning experience centered on chicken embryology. As part of this project, students researched the life cycle of chickens, patiently observed eggs as they incubated, and watched in excitement as chicks hatched and grew.

Shop with a Cop was a great success!

Students from across the district had the opportunity to go shopping for Christmas alongside local police officers, creating a special day filled with joy, excitement, and incredible memories.

Each year I like to remind our families of our Winter Weather Plan. 

I make the decision to delay or cancel school after I review the weather forecast and consult with our Transportation Department. When necessary, the district also consults with the municipalities and other resources within our community. Each decision regarding whether or not to delay or cancel school is made with student safety as the primary concern. I recognize that any delay or cancellation can create hardships for our families and do not take this decision lightly.
